Use a video instead of the featured image
Fantasma’s theme can replace the featured image with a video when you use the right internal tags, editor cards, and Theme Settings toggles. All of this ships in normal Pro builds — configure it in Ghost and the builder, then download a new ZIP or publish when theme toggles change.
What you need
- Theme Settings in Fantasma: Featured Video and Featured Video Preview (see Theme settings) — turn on what your layout needs, then download a new ZIP or publish so Ghost receives the updated theme.
- Ghost posts: internal tags and the first card in the post body (for hero-style layouts).
Hero-style post (#video)
- In Ghost, add the internal tag
#videoto the post. - Make the first card in the post body a video card or an embed from YouTube or Vimeo (native Ghost cards).
- With Featured Video enabled in Theme Settings and the theme installed, the post shows that video instead of the featured image in the hero. If the tag, first card, or toggle is missing, the featured image is used.
Card grids (#video-preview)
For list or grid cards that should emphasize video, add #video-preview and enable Featured Video Preview in Theme Settings where you use that pattern.
After you change Theme Settings
Download a new ZIP or publish from Fantasma, then ensure Ghost is running that build. Tag and card edits in Ghost do not require a new theme build unless you also changed the theme.
If you still see the featured image
Check, in order: internal tag on the post, first body card is a supported video/embed, Theme Settings toggles on and theme redeployed, and a Pro build active.
