Images: URLs, uploads, and your project library

Every image field in Fantasma sections and blocks supports an image URL. That is the baseline. Paste a stable https:// link (Ghost CDN, your host, or any asset you are allowed to use).

Uploads store files in your Fantasma project so you can reuse them across sections. Uploads require Pro and a signed-in account. Free and anonymous users cannot upload.

Where this applies

WhereRole
FantasmaURLs or uploaded project assets referenced from the downloaded or published theme.
Ghost AdminImages inside posts and pages live in Ghost; builder uploads are theme project assets, not a replacement for Ghost’s post editor gallery.

External URLs

If the link breaks or is not public, the preview and live site show a broken image. Fantasma does not mirror third-party hosts for you.

What happens when a visitor clicks

Every image block has its own Click behavior. None leaves the image inert. Open lightbox opens it full size, and it works even when the global Enable Lightbox switch in Theme settings is off; the theme then ships the lightbox assets for that block alone. Custom URL reveals a Link URL field and turns the image into a link.

Project uploads and library

With Pro and sign-in:

  1. Use upload where the field offers it.
  2. Assets stay with the project for reuse.
  3. A project holds up to 50 uploaded assets and 50 MB in total. Each file is capped at 1.5 MB, 8192px per side, and 40 megapixels overall.

Download or publish

After changing assets, download a new ZIP or publish again so the theme package matches.

If upload is unavailable

You are either not signed in, or not on Pro. Use image URLs instead, or upgrade. The builder states which case applies.
